ABC Radio Australia interview with Amy Greeson of Healing Seekers
Many of us don’t realize how modern medicine is inextricably tied up with traditional healing practices in remote communities according to a United States not-for-profit project called the Healing Seekers.
Founder Amy Greeson says she began the project in 2006 when she realized that with the destruction of forest and other habitat around the world, we were also potentially losing countless species of plants and animals which had much to offer humanity by way of medical cures and solutions.
So she began traveling the world with teams of researchers, collecting material from communities, forming partnerships with similar minded organizations and spreading the word about saving threatened places, people and knowledge.
Amy Greeson spoke Clement Paligaru about a recent mission to Papua New Guinea and the complexities of such a venture.
