Healing Seekers Honored With Fourth Telly Award
The Telly Awards has named Healing Seekers as a two-time winner in the 34th Annual Telly Awards for their videos titled “Goroka Show” and “Papua New Guinea: Sanitation”. With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor. To date, Healing Seekers has been awarded four Telly Awards and one Addy Award.
The winning video titled “Goroka Show” features the Healing Seekers’ trek to Papua New Guinea where they experience the Goroka Show, a gathering of over 100 tribes to celebrate their cultural heritage. The celebration showcases the beauty and wonder of hundreds of years of ceremony. The Polga Tribe invites Amy Greeson, Healing Seekers’ Founder/Executive Director, to join with them in the traditional face painting and preparation for this important festival.
The second winning video titled “Papua New Guinea: Sanitation” explores sanitation issues in Papua New Guinea including the lack of clean water, the team’s experience of rats in their huts, and whole alligator and feathered birds on a village family’s grill.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
Both works were videotaped on location in Papua New Guinea by the Healing Seekers’ team: Amy Greeson, Producer and Host; Esteban Barrera, Director of Videography; Josh Jones, Sound Director and John James, Science Consultant. Greensboro-based, McWhorter Concepts, Inc., a full-service video production company, provided state-side production, script writing and editing.< "The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video," said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. "Healing Seekers' accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production." “Healing Seekers continues to be in the forefront with creating vastly unique educational videos. The hard work and artistic talent of this team is astonishing. If it were not for the support of the Molly Millis-Hedgecock Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and the Emily Millis-Hiatt DAF of High Point, N.C., these two winning videos would not have been possible.”, stated Amy Greeson, Founder/ Executive Director
